Leadership is a vital concept to many Colorado business owners and managers, but it is also a term that can be defined in many ways. This week on “Colorado Chamber Office Hours,” I delve into what it takes to be a leader with three Northern Colorado business owners, the director of the Leadership Colorado program and two up-and-coming company leaders going through the program.

Katie Slota, co-owner and founder of Native Hill Farm, gives a tour of the Fort Collins business to the Leadership Colorado class in June.
Katie Slota, co-owner and founder of Fort Collins’ Native Hill Farm, discusses how to run a company based on values and still being able to turn a profit and remain successful and sustainable. Then Ed and Marsha Edmunds, founder of Greeley monster-mask-and-mold-maker Distortions Unlimited, talk about how they took a personal fascination and grew it into a nationally distributing company that has spawned its own cottage industry. And Neil Fisher, co-founder of Weldwerks Brewing of Greeley, explains how one can be both the head of an expanding business and a leader in growing the local business community that he’s helped to shape since the brewery’s 2015 opening.
