June 22 “Colorado Chamber Office Hours”: An interview with Michael Bennet

U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, a Democratic candidate for governor, speaks with host Ed Sealover on the "Colorado Chamber Office Hours" podcast.

This week’s “Colorado Chamber Office Hours” episode features the second of two interviews with the Democratic candidates for governor — this time with U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet. In it, Bennet dives into a range of business issues.

The contender to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Jared Polis, for example, discusses how he does not want to eliminate the second election needed to achieve union security under the Colorado Labor Peace Act but instead wants to reduce the threshold for passing that second vote. He also discusses how he is open to the idea of changing Colorado’s flat 4.41% income-tax rate to a graduated income-tax system in which higher-earning businesses and individuals pay a higher rate, and he offers suggestions on how to boost the state’s workforce-development system and reduce regulations.

Bennet and Weiser are involved in a primary battle in which the differences between them on business issues are very nuanced. The winner will face the victor in a three-way Republican contest in which the candidates have different focuses and different approaches to housing and tax policy.
